Met with Dr. Thomas Van Reduden, another thoracic surgeon, this week. Like him MUCH better than Mr. "Let's cut into you with no gaurantee that it'll work" (Mollina at the U). THIS guy suggests that I stick with the physical therapy, see a neurologist, and see him again in 3 to 6 months. I haven't seen a neurologist yet. I'm having problems with my ( Read more... )

Had another meeting with the thoracic surgeon at the U. He recommends surgery (imagine that). I REALLY don't want to have surgery, as there's actually NOT a guarantee it'll fix the problem, and there a 6 week recovery period. And they'd want to do one arm at a time ( Read more... )

I had a very traumatic EMG done last week; they stuck me with electrodes and zapped my arms to test nerve conduction. I was weeping halfway through, and it didn't get any better. They didn't do the last test, though, as there is apparently nothing wrong with the nerves in my arms. Aside from the fact that they hurt all the time, of course. They ( Read more... )

Arms: Still in pain. Have seen new doctor at U, Dr. Ernesto Molina. He actually CALLS YOU BACK after tests. Having had a chest X-Ray, an ultrasound on my neck, and an MRI, he wants me to see a neurosurgeon. Apparently I have bulging disks. Surgery scares me, but I'd like a diagnosis ( Read more... )
